James Morse, the developer of the planned Oyster Wharf development, has welcomed the latest business to sign up to the Mumbles waterfront venture.
Daniel Tercero, the man behind Swansea restaurants La Braseria and La Parrilla, is planning to be part of Oyster Wharf, which already has restaurant businesses Le Bistrot Pierre and Prezzo, cafe bar Loungers and fashion and homeware company Seasalt on board.
Mr Morse, director of Nextcolour Developments, said: “We are delighted that such a hugely popular local restaurateur (as Daniel Tercero) is joining us at Oyster Wharf.”
Mr Tercero said his plans were still being formulated but admitted he was working with his architect and Nextcolour Developments on the proposals. He wants to ensure the new top-floor restaurant fitted in well at the refurbished Tivoli Arcade, and with the local environment.
“I personally believe Mumbles has had many false starts, but I think that this time — with this and other developments — that it’s going to happen. We want to rekindle Mumbles’s former glory,” he told the South Wales Evening Post.
Mr Tercero took over the running of Spanish-themed La Braseria from his father Manuel, and later opened La Parrilla.
Community leaders in Mumbles are welcoming the development. Community council vice-chairman Peter Birch said in September: “We have waited for this for a long time. I think it will be absolutely smashing.”
